It’s been a less than wonderful day. If there was a measuring stick with which to rate something like a day, this one would have a tough time scratching a mark above zero. On top of being excessively busy at work, I’ve also been sick for a good part of the day; joy unspeakable.
But, if there is anything that can be said for bad days it is that they are good reminders of things that I should be diligent to remember. Hudson Taylor, whose dedication to the missionary life in China is nothing less than extraordinary, was asked why he thought the Lord had used him so greatly in China. Of all of the things that he could have said about anointing, unique gifting, perseverance, and other things that would have been true, Taylor said this:
God had looked long for a man weak enough, and He found me.
– J Hudson Taylor
I’m reminded on days like today that God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness. May we all be reminded of this, friends, but hopefully without feeling rotten π
To quote an epic of a song, “Carry on, my wayward son. There’ll be peace when you are done.” Our journeys are dangerous, but we do not walk alone.
